In this paper, the experimental investigation of the effect of the pre-ionization system and pressure changes on the hard X-ray emission produced by the mather focus plasma device has been discussed. The pre-ionization system used in this experiment is a 330 Megaohm resistor that is placed in parallel with the spark gap system in the charging circuit of the system. The charging voltage by the capacitor is equal to 12 kV and the injected gas is hydrogen. In this work, the conditions of pinch formation and hard X-ray production at 5 different pressures of 0.7, 0.75, 0.82, 0.85 and 0.95 Torr have been investigated in two cases with and without pre-ionization system. In the following, the optimal pressure conditions have been obtained based on the intensity of produced and irradiated hard X-rays with the presence of the pre-ionization system.
