Abstract

Patient dose is relatively low in radiography but because of numerous uses in diagnosis, it can cause a large amount of cumulative dose and therefore it be needed to use techniques to reduce patient dose. Digital radiography based on quantum efficiency and capability of image processing presents new chances for image optimization. However, the transmission from film-screen radiography to digital radiography has been done without dose optimization techniques and new optimization techniques are needed to be achieved to the ALARA conditions. In this study studies with the subject of optimization of digital radiography has been reviewed.
