In this study, nanostructured alumina was synthesized by solution combustion method and its thermoluminescence properties was investigated. X-raydiffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were conducted to investigate the crystal structure, morphology and the particle size of the powders. It was observed that nano structured α-Al2O3 particles with nano flake morphology and thickness of 50-90 nm were formed. The samples were exposed by gamma rays of 60Co radioactive source. The samples reproducibility and fading effect were investigated as well. The results of TL glow curves illustrated a prominent peak at around 187°C. It was revealed that the Al2O3 sample exhibited a linearity response in a wide range of doses (up to 4 kGy) that make it a good candidate for high dose dosimetry measurements.
